Providence Community Health Centers was proud to celebrate and thank our team of clinicians at a breakfast reception on January 16 at Atwood Health Center. Clinicians were recognized with awards for excellence and for a touch of fun, superlatives were awarded in categories like “Most Likely To Be Found Doing A Yoga Stretch In The Office”.

Dr. Beth Toolan, a pediatrician who has been with PCHC since 1999, was this year’s winner of the Golden Stethoscope Award, which recognizes an exemplary clinician who demonstrates clinical excellence and a commitment to compassionate patient care. She was presented with her award by Dr. Margaret Miller, Medical Director of Primary Care Services, and Dr. David Mills, Medical Director of Specialty Care Services. Dr. Toolan completed her internal medicine and pediatric residency at Rhode Island Hospital. She joined PCHC in 1999 and is dedicated to serving PCHC’s diverse population as well as promoting literacy and school readiness to her pediatric patients.

The awards listed below were based on health center quality data. Support staff is critically important in coordinating these screenings and health measures. A special shoutout to Dr. Karen Ng, who was recognized with the “Overall Quality” award. She met every quality target every quarter, which is a tremendous accomplishment for her and all the team members who help Dr. Ng care for patients.
