PCHC welcomes three new Board members

Providence Community Health Centers is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors. The three new board members bring a diversity of experience in non-profit management, the service industry, and education to the Board. As described in federal regulations, a majority of a Federally Qualified Health Center’s Board must be patients of the health center; this ensures the Board is responsive to patient needs and community concerns.

The new board members are:

BERNARD GEORGES is the Founder and Executive Director of New Bridges for Haitian Success (NB4HS), founded in 2013 to support Haitians. New Bridges for Haitian Success, Inc. is a 501c(3) IRS-registered non-profit organization with the mission to help Haitian immigrants and Haitian Americans integrate into Rhode Island life and be a beacon for the Haitian community in the state. The organization seeks to support a connected Haitian community with access to increased opportunities and economic empowerment.

Bernard emigrated from Haiti as a teen in 2000 to join his father in America. Bernard earned an associate’s degree in law enforcement from the Community College of Rhode Island, a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Roger Williams University. 

Most recently, he earned a Certificate in Trauma Treatment from the Harvard Medical School Program and received the distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award and Global Humanitarian Leadership Award at the 2023 World Leader Summit of Peace Sustainability Conference in conjunction with the United Nations at Washington Press Club. Bernard was also named a 2020 Georges Outstanding Global Leader by the Council for Justice, Equality & Peace at the Federation of World Peace and Love Conference, an award presented during the 58th Commission for Social Justice Development session at the United Nations.

He has served on the boards of several community organizations, including The Refugee Dream Center (where he served as board chair), the International Economic Ambassadors Office of Governor Dan McKee, the Diversity and Equality Advisory Committee Office of Congressman Jim Langevin, the Rhode Island Department of Administration’s Division of Equity and Diversity, the International Economic Ambassadors Office Governor Dan McKee, Congressman Seth Magaziner's African American Advisory Group, and the Providence School District-Wide Advisory Council, and Providence Community Health Centers.

BENJAMIN MICCINELLO is an experienced leader in the food services industry with more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, fine dining, and consultancy, specializing in cost analysis, team development, and system optimization. Throughout his career, Benjamin has been passionate about driving innovation, enhancing workplace culture, and delivering measurable results through strategic vision and hands-on leadership.

Along with his leadership positions directing food and nutrition programs in a variety of healthcare settings, Benjamin founded the restaurant and food service consultancy DOUGH LLC more than a decade ago. The company specializes in food cost analysis, marketing research, strategy development, employee hiring, training, and retention.

Benjamin received his B.S. in Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University. He is a patient at Providence Community Health Centers.

PATTI OSBORNE is a teacher at Blackstone Valley Preparatory School in Cumberland. Prior to moving to Rhode Island, she taught general education at the elementary level as well as drama in Montessori, private, and performing arts schools and programs in Dallas, Texas. She received a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences from University of North Texas. She has taught in other Rhode Island school districts including Providence and Barrington. Patti was a featured presenter at the National Conference on Magnet Schools in 2023 and was awarded the Distinguished Teacher Recognition for several consecutive years.

Prior to teaching, Patti ran her own non-profit theater company in Dallas for ten years, serving as the executive producer and a board member for Our Endeavors Theater Collective.
